Tenerife is the world's 2nd most popular destination for whale watching. Apart from the colony of around 500 pilot whales resident here, another 27 different species of whale & dolphin have been sighted in Canarian waters!

Our pilot whales hunt mainly squid in the depths between Tenerife and La Gomera and are high speed hunters. If hunting giant squid they can reach speeds of up to 32 kph at 1000 metres, in dives that last 15 - 20 minutes.
